A big well done to the team today in what was a really enjoyable day in glorious sunshine down at the Villa.

Game 1 was against Lancon and we drew 0-0. Liam and Luke were fantastic in defence with Malachy putting in a great performance in midfield and James making some strong runs on the left. Man of the Match was Malachy.

Game 2 was against Tarleton and after going 1-0 down, Villa battled back brilliantly and scored a fantasic goal when James was brought down for a foul on the left handside of midfield, close to the corner flag. James dusted himself down to smash home an unstoppable free kick that rocketed into right hand corner of the goal. Liam again had a great game in defence and Al was full of running up front and tracked back well into midfield. This was a game Villa were unlucky not to win with all the boys playing a part in really entertaining game. Final score 1-1. Man of the Match was Liam

Game 3 was against Red Rose and Villa quickly found themselves 2-0 down with a shot that looped over Aaron in the strong sunshine and then he was unfortunate as shot squirmed under his body and into the corner of the net. Villa's heads didn't drop though and it was soon 2-1 after a good finish by Malachy. Villa spent the rest of the game trying to force an equaliser but it wouldn't come and Villa lost 2-1.  Man of the Match was Liam again with some excellent defended and endless running in really hot conditions.

Game 4 was against Leyland Albion and was a game that Villa dominated. James put Villa 1-0 up with another well taken free kick that gave the keeper no chance. Villa dominated the game, Tom and Jake were excellent in defence, Liam on the right hand side of midfield was causing Leyland a number of problems with some surging runs and it would have been no injustice if we'd of scored 3 or 4. Stuart came on the right handside of midfield and put in some great crosses, one in particular with Al was on inches away from converting. The score stayed at 1-0  though. Man of the match was James. A great peformance, some strong skillful runs, a couple of great crosses and capped his performance of with a goal.

Our last game was against Ribble Wanderers. Villa started brightly and created some good chances before Tom scored a fantastic goal, cutting in from the right handside of midfield and smashing the ball in the bottom right hand corner of the goal. With only a couple of minutes to go, Ribble were level with a well taken goal that gave Aaron no chance. With the last kick of the game, Ribble won a free kick just outside the area and their striker stepped up to hit a great shot that flew into the net. The full time whistle went with a final score of 2-1. Man of the match was Tom who scored a great goal and was unlucky to be on the losing team.

Every one of the boys played their part but the Euxton man of the tournament goes to Liam. Well done!

In fantastic sunshine, I think we all had a great day. Thank you so much to all the parents who helped out. Car park attendant Gary, his formation of cars was a joy to behold, BBQ masters Martin, Mark, Dave Gaskell and Richard. Dave Seed for eating most of the BBQ. Dave G for being head of finance as always. Amanda, Sheila and Cath for sorting the raffle. In fact everyone helped out and it was much appreciated and helped make it a really enjoyable day. Thanks very much.

See you all at training on Monday and again, well done boys. It was a hot one today but all of you deserve your medals.
